Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American actor, singer and writer. Her family was home-schooled by her mother within the USA. Raised with racial insults, she was felt unloved. In her 9th grade when she began to gain confidence following her acclaim during an audition. This not only increased her self-confidence but also changed her career ambition. In 1992, she received her master's degree from the city's Julliard School. When she was 23, she began her career making her debut on Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films with You've Got Mail. In the Broadway version of the original show Spamalot She played The Lady of The Lake and won both the Tony Award as well as the praise of critics. Following that she was made the lead character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gaining wider fame. A well-known performer, she also has released an album and a musical. In her role as an activist, she strives for LGBT equality.
