Ali MacGraw
Ali MacGraw aka Elizabeth Alice MacGraw was an American actress, activist for animals and a writer, who has won numerous awards. Her films comprise Love Story (1970), Goodbye Columbus ( 1969) and The Getaway ( 1972). Her desire to be an artist was in part influenced by her upbringing as a member of a New York family of artists. In the beginning, she worked as a photographer's assistant. Then she shifted her focus towards modeling and directing. The award she received was the Golden Globe Award, for the most promising debutant. MacGraw was a worldwide superstar after her film Love Story, which earned an Academy Award nomination as well as a Golden Globe. Within just three short films she was the highest-rated female box office actress across the globe. In 1972 her hand-footprints and autograph were engraved at the Grauman's Chinese Theater. Other films she has appeared in include The Getaway Convoy Players as in the mini-series on TV The Winds of War. Moving Pictures, a 1991 autobiography of hers, came out. MacGraw has been married three times.
